Complimentary Skin Analysis
At Aura and Derma, we offer a variety of aesthetic products and cosmetic services to improve your skin quality and enhance your aesthetic features. Whether you are interested in learning about Botox® or laser hair removal or are just unsure of what your skin needs, a skin care professional is available to discuss your concerns and guide you in the decision making process. During our Complimentary Skin Analysis, an experienced aesthetician will examine and diagnose your skin with our Skin Analyzer. This provides a sophisticated visual reading of sun damage and oil production. After interpreting your findings, our aesthetician will provide information and recommendations for products and service options tailored to meet your individual skin care goals while answering any questions you may have. Our purpose is to educate, answer questions and provide options during this complimentary visit. Schedule this free consultation.
Cosmetic Mole Removal
Benign moles that are not covered by medical insurance for removal can be cosmetically treated. Precise shave removals are performed at Derma with additional electrodessication to prevent regrowth and recurrence. As a safety measure, cosmetically removed moles are also processed under the microscope to confirm their benign nature. Inquire about a mole removal appointment today.
Scar Improvement Therapy
Scars can be treated with various cosmetic modalities, such as Microdermabrasion, Laser Resurfacing, Chemical Peels, and topical Cosmeceuticals at home. Please refer to specific information on these modalities located on this page. Thick, bumpy scars are called “keloids” and are treated with safe steroid injections and prescription creams. Keloid treatment is covered by medical insurance. Call for a scar evaluation appointment today.
Facial Vein Therapy
Bothersome red veins which commonly occur on the nose, cheeks, and chin can result from rosacea and sun damage. These veins can be treated with the careful application of a low grade electrical current. This therapy is known as “electrodessication” and effectively fades facial spider veins. Electrodessication is well complemented by Photorejuvenation as a preventative therapy. Schedule for an appointment to evaluate facial veins.
Laser Hair Removal
A non-invasive procedure, laser hair removal works to diminish the growth of unwanted hairs on the face and body. The laser works by emitting a beam of light which is absorbed into the hair follicle and converted into heat. This damages the hair follicle, effectively inhibiting it from regrowing. Long-term reduction can be experienced after a series of treatments. At Aura Skin and Laser, we use the Lumenis Lightsheer diode laser, which many consider to be the gold standard in the industry. Microdermabrasion is considered an effective skin resurfacing treatment that uses vacuum pressure and projected microcrystals to provide a controlled peeling of the superficial layers of the skin. Removing this dead cell layer stimulates generation of newer, younger, and healthier cells, improving the overall texture, color, and appearance of the skin. This therapy is effective for everything from fine lines and pores to acne scars and hyperpigmentation. A series of treatments is recommended to obtain best results. Microdermabrasion is also a great way to enhance the therapeutic effects of other treatments such as photo rejuvenation or chemical peels. Schedule a free consultation.
Chemical peels are topically applied acids that stimulate a controlled exfoliation of the skin to rejuvenate and brighten the complexion. Peels are beneficial in minimizing common skin concerns such as fine lines, pores, sun damage, scars, uneven pigmentation, and age spots. It is also an effective treatment for acne, especially in conjunction with prescription medical therapy. At Aura Skin and Laser, we perform a variety of peels of different strengths and customize treatments based on individual needs and goals. A series of treatments is recommended to obtain best results. Schedule a free consultation.
A TCA peel is a deeper peel that creates a more aggressive effect on the skin. This provides a more significant enhancement to the skin, minimizing fine lines, fading pigmentation, improving acne, and smoothening scars. Fewer treatments are generally needed compared to milder peels, but more down time is required. Schedule a free consultation.
Photo Rejuvenation IPL Intense Pulsed Light
Commonly referred to as Photofacial™ or Fotofacial™, intense pulsed light photo rejuvenation improves the color and tone of the skin and is extremely helpful in minimizing redness, sun damage, pigmentation, and age spots. Photo rejuvenation is applied to the skin as multiple pulses of light. The light and heat energy is absorbed by sun damaged cells, pigmented areas, and tiny blood vessels, effectively improving them and providing a more radiant, even complexion. Best results are seen with a series of treatments. Schedule a free consultation and test session.
This is an augmented version of photo rejuvenation utilizing Levulan (5-aminolevulonic acid), a very photo-sensitizing agent. The Levulan is applied to the skin and is absorbed into sun damaged cells, oil glands, and other problematic areas. After a predetermined absorption time, intense pulsed light is introduced into the skin. With the presence of the Levulan, the light is able to penetrate more deeply and intensely into target tissue areas, allowing for a more aggressive therapy that generates significant rejuvenation of the skin. It effectively enhances the overall complexion by improving pigmentation, sun damage, textural issues, and redness. Photodynamic Therapy also combats inflammatory acne and can be a good alternative to oral antibiotics and generic isotretinoin or Accutane. Schedule a free consultation and test session.
